Journal policies

Policies of Journal of Translational Ayurveda, published by Science Catalogs.

Open access and licensing

All articles are published open access and are free to read, download and share immediately on publication. Articles are licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) licence, which allows reuse with appropriate credit. Authors keep copyright in their work.

Peer review

The journal uses double anonymised peer review. Each manuscript that passes editorial screening is reviewed by at least two independent experts. Reviewers assess originality, methodological soundness, clarity and relevance to the journal's scope.

  • Editors and reviewers declare competing interests and decline manuscripts where a conflict exists.
  • Manuscripts submitted by editors are handled by another editor, and the author editor has no access to the review.
  • The handling editor makes the final decision; authors may appeal once in writing with new evidence.

Publication ethics

The journal follows the guidance of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). Every submission is screened for similarity. Suspected misconduct (plagiarism, duplicate publication, data fabrication or falsification, image manipulation, citation manipulation or authorship disputes) is investigated following COPE flowcharts.

  • Authorship: all authors must have contributed substantially and approved the final version. Changes to authorship after submission need agreement from every author.
  • Human and animal research: requires approval from an ethics committee, stated in the manuscript with the approval number, plus informed consent where applicable.
  • Competing interests: all financial and non-financial interests must be declared.

Use of AI tools

Authors may use generative AI tools to improve language or code, but must disclose this in the methods or acknowledgements. AI tools cannot be listed as authors, and authors remain responsible for the accuracy of all content. Reviewers and editors must not upload manuscripts to public AI tools.

APC and waivers

Article publishing charge: INR 5,000 · USD 65 for a research article. The charge is payable only after acceptance; editorial decisions are made independently of the ability to pay.

Full or partial waivers are available for authors from low- and lower-middle-income countries, students and early-career researchers without funding. Request a waiver when you submit in JournalOS, or write to jta@scjournals.com. Rates by article type, payment options and refunds are on the article publishing charges page.

Data and code

Authors should make the data and code that support their findings available in a public repository (for example Zenodo, Figshare or GitHub) and cite them with a persistent identifier. Every article includes a data availability statement; where data cannot be shared, the reason must be given.

Corrections and retractions

Errors that affect the scholarly record are corrected through a linked correction notice. Articles with seriously unreliable findings or misconduct are retracted with a notice explaining why; the original article stays available, clearly marked. Expressions of concern may be issued while an investigation is ongoing.

Archiving and indexing

Published articles receive DOIs and are deposited for long-term preservation. Article metadata is exposed for Google Scholar and other discovery services. See indexing and archiving for current status.
