- The manuscript is original and not under consideration elsewhere. Preprints are allowed.

Preparing your manuscript
Submit an editable Word (.docx) or LaTeX file. Use one column, 1.5 line spacing and continuous line numbers. Anonymise the main file for double-anonymised review and put author details on a separate title page.
Title page
Article title (≤ 25 words), all author names, affiliations, the corresponding author's email, ORCID iDs and acknowledgements.
Abstract and keywords
Research articles use a structured abstract with the headings Background, Methods, Results and Conclusion. Add 4–8 keywords that are not repeated from the title. Optionally include 3–5 highlights (≤ 85 characters each) and a plain-language summary.
Main text
Introduction, Materials and methods, Results, Discussion and Conclusion. Number section headings (1, 1.1, 1.2). Define abbreviations at first use and use SI units.
Declarations
End the manuscript with Funding, Declaration of competing interest, Data availability, Ethics statement, Author contributions (CRediT roles) and Acknowledgements.
References
Use numbered references in order of citation, in square brackets in the text [1], [2–4]. Give DOIs wherever they exist; the journal links every DOI in the published article. Reference managers can export the required style as IEEE or Vancouver.
Example: [1] A. Author and B. Author, "Title of the cited article," Abbrev. Journal Name, vol. 12, no. 3, pp. 45–56, 2024, doi: 10.xxxx/xxxxxx.
Figures and tables
- Upload figures as separate TIFF, PNG or EPS files at 300 dpi or more (600 dpi for line art).
- Every figure needs a numbered caption and descriptive alt text for accessibility.
- Submit tables as editable text, not images.
- Use colour-blind-safe palettes and make sure figures read in greyscale.
